The August Primary Election is coming up in just a few weeks!
The Clear Lake voting precincts average a combined voter turnout of only 29% from 2010 to present. That’s an average of 392 ballots cast for the average 1341 registered voters — That’s almost 1,000 registered voters in Clearwood not typically participating in the elections!
We would like to encourage you to get registered to vote if you aren’t already, and to be on the lookout for your ballot that’s arriving in the next couple of weeks. You can mail in your ballot, or drop it off at the drive-up ballot drop box at the Lackamas School.
No matter where you stand on issues, regardless of what you think about what’s going on right now — in our world, country, state, county, and community — we have power in a ballot. It’s shown in the past when controversy comes around; there are evident peaks in voting turnout when certain issues are before us voters. We must cast a vote if we really want to see change.
