The purpose of the study was to accurately reflect the costs of providing water to the community instead of partially subsidizing the water system out of the Operations Budget and the General Reserves Budget.
- While the old base rate was designed to provide for maintenance and monitoring of the system, the new base rate includes that plus water usage up to 1,800 cu. ft. of water. Residents with less than average water consumption may actually pay less.
- Under the old rates, the average customer, paid, including the contribution to Water Reserves, $55.87 per month. Under the new rates the average customer will pay, including the contribution to Water Reserves, $56.32, an increase of 45 cents per month.
